G. Lazar is an Indologist (Vaishnavism) with further specializations in Phenomenology and Islam. He teaches at the Department of Indian Philosophy at Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune.

 

G. Joseph M. wrote his doctorate on Gandhi and teaches Philosophy at Karamathur College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

 

G. Karuvelil is actively interested in religious language and teaches at the Department of Systematic Philosophy at Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune, Maharashtra

 

G. Pattery of Shanthiniketan, West Bengal, is active in an enriching dialogue between philosophy and nature.

 

J. I. Fernando is the Head of the Department of Philosophy at Karamathur College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and specializes in Heidegger and technology.

 

K. Pandikattu has two doctorates and teaches physics and philosophy at Jnana-Deepa Vidyapeeth, Pune.

 

M. J. Kujur is an anthropologist and specializes on tribal issues. He is pursuing his doctoral studies at Delhi School of Economics.

 

S. Vazhapilly has specialized in phenomenology and on Lonergan. He taught at Gujarat Vidya Deepa, Ahemadabad.

 

About the book: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi needs no introduction. There has been a revival of Gandhi in recent times. This book is an attempt to rediscover his relevance for the contemporary culture. Ten scholars from different parts of India came together to critically and creatively analyze the present context of the world and to bring forth the relevance of Gandhian vision and message for today’s world. The mythic significance of Gandhi is studied, his symbolic value explored and his social relevance emphasized.

 

About the Editor: Kuruvilla Pandikattu (b. 1957) secured his Masters in Physics. Later on he turned his attention to philosophy and theology, securing two doctorates and winning several awards. He was invited to Honolulu, Hawaii, by the East-West Philosophers’ Conference to present a paper on Gandhi’s vision for relating technology and science.
