Common Values of Humanity and Cross-cultural
Exchanges
China West Normal University
Nanchong, P.R. China
January 2-3,
2020
Theme
Peace,
development, equity, justice, democracy and freedom are
common values of humankind and lofty goals of the United
Nations. However, the goals are far from being achieved; we
still have to strive for them. Eastern and Western countries
have different cultural traditions, while they are
compatible as the two cultural traditions can be integrated,
enriched and complemented. In the era of globalization,
Eastern and Western, Northern and Southern countries should
learn from each other, especially in terms of cultural
traditions and values. We all live in one world and have
common concerns about our society and the future of
humanity. In order to avoid wars, conflicts, and violence,
we need to build a new type of international relations
featuring win-win cooperation and a community of shared
future for our common humanity.
Some topics of this conference are listed below:
1. Common values of all human
beings
2. Eastern and Western cultural
traditions
3. Multicultural identity in
the era of globalization
4. Contemporary Chinese Thought
on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era
5.
